DIY wall board to show off your kids’ art

Our 2-year-old son loves to colour and paint and especially loves to show it all off proudly once he’s done something. I’ve been searching for a clever way to display his art and drew inspiration from some products on Etsy. I thought I’d take a stab at making one myself. So here are my quick steps for making a clipboard to show off your kids’ art!

Supplies needed:

– Framed wood board (or any wood board). I bought this one for ~$10 at Michaels.

– Chalk paint and brush. I used a sponge brush to have fewer bristle marks.

– White chalk pen.

– Clothes pins.

– Glue gun.

Steps:

1. Tape the edges of the framed board using painters tape (if you go for the framed option) and paint the surface with chalk paint.

2. While the paint from step 1 is drying, decide on how many clothes pins you want, measure them equal distances apart, and glue them on the bottom of the frame using your glue gun. Super glue could also work.

3. Once the paint is dry (each coat needs about 2 hours and I only did one), handwrite ‘Look what I made’ using a chalk pen. I used Canva to find a font similar to kids’ writing and tried my best to copy it. (But let’s be honest, my handwriting is similar to kids’ writing anyways!)

4. Secure it to the wall and you’re good to go! I used Command strips (the hookless ones with velcro) as I wanted it to be more flush with the wall.
